📜 Tarihi Kökenleri
Beykoz camcılığının temelleri, III. Selim döneminde atılmış; ilk cam fabrikası 1790’lı yıllarda, Sultan Mustafa’ya ait arazide kurulmuştur. Bu önemli girişim, cam sanatını öğrenmesi için Venedik’e gönderilen Mevlevi Mehmed Dede’nin, dönüşünde Beykoz’da kurduğu atölye ile cam üretimini başlatmasıyla hayata geçmiştir.

Beykoz camlarının en büyük özelliği, ışığa tutulduğunda içinden kırmızı rengin yansımasıdır. Bu etkinin, yapımında kullanılan gizemli kırmızı toprakla ilgili olduğu düşünülür. Üzerinde damga olmayan bu camlar, ancak uzmanlar tarafından tanınabilir.
🏺 Sanat ve Üretim Zenginliği
Zamanla cam üretimi birçok atölyeye yayılmış, el yapımı cam ürünler arasında tuzluk, şamdan, gülsuyu şişesi, kadeh, kâse ve parfüm şişesi gibi birçok obje üretilmiştir. Özellikle “çeşm-i bülbül” gibi teknikler İstanbul cam sanatının sembollerinden biri haline gelmiştir.
🌍 Uluslararası Tanınırlık
Beykoz camlarının sadece Osmanlı topraklarında değil; Yunanistan, İran, Irak, Suriye ve Kıbrıs gibi bölgelerde de izine rastlanmaktadır. 1851 Londra Sanayi Fuarı’na katılan Osmanlı delegasyonu arasında, Beykoz Cam Fabrikası da yer almış ve eserleriyle büyük ödüller kazanmıştır.

Mevlevi Mehmed Dede’nin tasarımlarında Mevlevi sikkesinden esinlenen formlar ve desenler görülmüştür. Bu gelenek, cam tesbih üretiminde de estetik ve kültürel bir iz bırakmıştır. Günümüzde Beykoz cam tesbihler; tarihi, manevi ve sanatsal değer taşıyan koleksiyon ürünleri olarak rağbet görmektedir.
